This letter serves as a letter of recommendation for our Sales Representative, Evert Guliker of Wheeler Cheam Realty in Chilliwack, B.C..

It all started back in November 2005 when we were selling our home in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. At the time we were living in Powell River, B.C. where our two young children were attending school. Powell River was very beautiful, however due to the lack of work we decided to come to Chilliwack which is my husband’s hometown.   We started checking into various websites to see what available for Real Estate in Chilliwack which was in our price range. I had only just registered into one particular website – Buying Homes in British Columbia or something similar. Almost immediately I was put into contact with Evert. He had the time to listen to our particular situation and to guide us through to the purchase of our home here in Chilliwack.

We can honestly say this was no easy task.   With our previous experience in the Northwest Territories Real Estate market, it was quite different in the bigger picture and more processes in British Columbia.   Evert was able to assist us in each step of the way and liaised with other agencies on our behalf (i.e. home inspection, notary public process, insurance brokers and the mortgage specialist).

On a personal note, Evert understood our situation; we were coming into new surroundings and environment.   He knew it was a bit of a culture shock for my children and I to be uprooted and move to a warmer faster paced life in a southern climate.  With the challenges of finding work and re-establishing ourselves in the southern job market, Evert provided encouragement and leads on possible contacts.   We were also fortunate to meet his wife who helps him greatly from her office at home.   We can truly say we respect Evert and are confident that he will continue to do well in his business dealings here in British Columbia.

I’ve decided to write a small testimonial about Evert Guliker, our realtor, of Royal LePage Wheeler Cheam. First I would like to thank Evert for his work and dedication in helping us in the purchase of our new home. He was there for us from beginning to end, always available for us when we had questions.

When we hadn’t decided on a house yet, Evert pointed out specific pros and cons of each house. He was very helpful by giving advice where needed, but didn’t push us into something we weren’t interested in. He would often say; “The house is in good shape but there are some improvements to be done, it’s totally your decision”. Elsbeth and I really appreciated the space and time that we had, and when we found the house we wanted, we felt that we’d made the right decision.

My Fiancé and I were very green when it came to realty. Evert Guliker helped us more than we expected. Going into the initial stages he gave us pointers and hints of what we could expect when buying our first home. We found Evert very thorough in the whole process. He gave us advice on what we should do when getting pre-approved, and walked us through all the crucial steps ensuring that we made the right choices. We are definitely more educated about realty than before.
